Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I create an account?

You can sign up using your email address or sign in with your Google account.
Tap Sign Up on the welcome screen and follow the prompts.

2. How do I sign in with Google?

On the login screen, tap Continue with Google and select your Google account.
Your name, email, and profile photo will be used to set up your profile.

3. How do I contribute a term or definition?

After logging in, navigate to any term and tap the Contribute button.
You can submit new definitions, edit existing ones, or upload supporting images.
All contributions are reviewed before being published.

4. How do I upload images for a term?

Open a term page and tap the image upload icon. You can either take a photo using your camera
or select one from your photo library. This permission is optional and can be granted or revoked
in Settings → Privacy on your device.

5. Can I use the app without an internet connection?

Yes. The app caches dictionary content locally so you can browse terms offline.
However, contributing content, ratings, and syncing require an active internet connection.

6. How do I bookmark a term?

Tap the bookmark icon on any term page. Your bookmarks are saved to your account
and can be accessed from your profile under Saved Terms.

7. How do I switch between light and dark mode?

Go to Settings inside the app and select your preferred theme:
Light, Dark, or System Default.

8. How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the app.
All your personal data, contributions, and uploaded images will be permanently deleted
from our servers within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.

9. I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

On the login screen, tap Forgot Password and enter your registered email address.
A password reset link will be sent to your inbox. Check your spam folder if you do not see it.

10. Why is my contribution not showing up?

All user-submitted content goes through a moderation process before being published.
This typically takes 24–72 hours. If your submission was rejected, you will receive
a notification with the reason.

11. How do I report inappropriate content?

Tap the Report button on any term or contribution. Provide a brief description
of the issue and submit. Our team will review it promptly.

12. The app is crashing. What should I do?

Please try the following steps:

  1. Close and restart the app.
  2. Check that you are running the latest version from the App Store.
  3. Restart your device.
  4. Uninstall and reinstall the app (your account data will not be lost).
  5. If the issue persists, email us at voltexpilot@gmail.com with your device model and iOS version.
