Welcome to Architect Lexicon, an architecture terms dictionary app that provides definitions, categories, ratings, and community contributions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.

This policy applies to the Architect Lexicon mobile application (“App”) operated by Sudarson Sam (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

Email address – used for account identification and communication
Display name – shown on contributions and community content
Profile photo – optional, used for your in-app profile
Google account info – if you sign in with Google (name, email, profile picture)

1.2 User-Generated Content

When you use the App’s features, we collect:

Architecture term definitions you contribute or edit
Ratings and reviews you submit on terms
Images you upload to support architecture terms
Bookmarks and saved terms

1.3 App Preferences

Theme preference (light / dark / system)
Offline cache of dictionary content for use without internet

1.4 Device & Usage Information (Collected Automatically)

Device type and operating system version
App version number
Network connectivity status
Firebase App Check device attestation token (for security)

We do not collect: precise location, contacts, browsing history, payment information, or any health/fitness data.

4. Data Storage & Security

Storage Location

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers (Google Cloud Platform). Data may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries where Google operates data centres.

Security Measures

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2+
All data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 (Google-managed keys)
Authentication tokens are short-lived and stored securely via iOS Keychain
Firebase App Check prevents unauthorised API access
Firebase security rules enforce per-user data isolation

Local Data

The App caches Firestore data locally to support offline browsing. This cache is stored in the app’s sandboxed storage on your device and is protected by iOS Data Protection. User preferences are stored via iOS Keychain where applicable.

5. App Permissions

You can revoke optional permissions at any time via your device’s Settings → Privacy menu. Revoking a permission disables that specific feature but does not affect general App functionality.

6. Data Retention

Account data – retained while your account is active
User-generated content – retained indefinitely unless you delete it or your account
Uploaded images – retained until you delete them or your account
Local cache – stored on device; cleared when you uninstall the App

When you delete your account, all associated personal data (profile, contributions, uploads) is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

7. Your Privacy Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access – Request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction – Update your profile information within the App
Deletion – Delete your account and all associated data
Portability – Request export of your data in a portable format
Restriction – Request that we limit processing of your data
Objection – Object to processing based on legitimate interests

Delete your account via the App’s account settings

We will respond to all privacy requests within 30 days.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at voltexpilot@gmail.com and we will promptly delete the data.

9. International Users

The App is operated from India and uses Google Firebase infrastructure globally. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries that may not provide the same level of protection as your home country.

By using the App, you consent to this transfer. Google provides appropriate safeguards via Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

Updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page
Displaying an in-app notice on the next launch after a material change

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
