Same time next year by Tessa Bailey – Review

The entire plot has a pattern of every alternative chapters being written in the first person voice of both the male and female lead of the story.

That was actually nice to know the inner voice and perspective of both the characters.

Plot overview

The very first chapter itself makes an easy guess for the rest of the story. Nothing sort of new it is. The same story where every foreigner’s visa expires and they look a way to get married and try to stay in the country. This is what happens here also. So it was way easier to predict the rest of the story that both the characters are going to fall in love and end up marrying each other.

Heartening thoughts

One fact that I loved about this book is it breaks the insecurities about marriage to the female lead and offering the readers the perspective that not all marriages fail and there are families with good relationships and bindings too. Anyone who has lost hope in love and marriage should give it a read to know that there is good pages out there too.

My Ratings

The reason I have reduced my ratings for this book is because more than the predictable story, it was just super steamy and hot and nothing more entertaining. Also I noticed two grammatical errors too.

Looking at the cover and the title, I was aware that this would be a romantic love story, but didn’t expect it would have so much steamy content.

This book is certainly for the readers who enjoys steamy, passionate romance narratives.

This was my first book of this author, so I am not sure if it’s only this book or all her books. Share your thoughts on this book and this author in the comments section below.
