WWW WEDNESDAY #40

Sam is currently hosting WWW Wednesday from Taking On A World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently reading:

I bought this book purely out of a curiosity for the book title. I have started with the introduction of this book and it feels like simple psychological and social studies and explanations are way too technical for lay. So I wasn’t sure if I should continue reading. Still, I thought of giving it some time and read few more pages. There’s a slight hope now that I could understand a bit. Now only from the word ‘Game’ the book concept is beginning. Let me see how this goes further and will update next week.

Another personality development book is on the list. The author James Allen’s whole and parts of 4 works are compiled into one as Be your own sunshine. 50% of the book has been completed. It is all about how our thoughts influence our actions and a little realisation of things, lives and results we see and those that we don’t witness with our eyes physically. It makes sense on certain aspects, however I wish the author could have written it in much simpler English. It took me chapters to understand his writing and this is absolutely not for anyone who only reads simpler version. Whoever enjoys reading in advanced English will enjoy reading this book.

Finished reading:

The author Morgan Housel has worked on the New York journal’s column for economy. With his collective research knowledge, he has developed this book. His 20 research topic is the 20 chapters of this book. The author gives a wide range of information with real life examples and strategies. This book doesn’t tell you what to do and what not to do with your money. It provides necessary information about the fall and rise one could have based on the decision with money given the time period and other circumstances. A definite read for an understanding of investing and saving money. My detailed review is available in this post.

Next on read list:

The author Daniel Kahneman was mentioned more than once in my last read book Psychology of money by Morgan Housel. His work, Thinking, Fast and Slow is also mentioned which made me more curious to know what’s in this book next.
